Complete Introduction to the Installation Process of LED Display Screen from Module to Large Screen

Frame

Create a structure based on an example of an existing small screen being produced. Buy 4 pieces of 4 * 4 square steel and 4 pieces of 2 * 2 square steel (6 meters long) from the market. First, use 4 * 4 square steel to make a T-shaped frame (which can be customized according to your own situation). The size of the large frame is 4850mm * 1970mm, because the size inside the small frame is the size of the screen, and the square steel is 40mm, so this is the size.

When welding, try to use a steel angle ruler to weld at a 90 degree angle. That medium size is not important. After the T-frame is completed, start welding small square steel on it. The internal dimensions of the small square steel are 4810mm * 1930mm. The edges and middle parts are cut into small pieces using the remaining 4 * 4 square steel and welded with square stainless steel.

After the small frame is finished, start welding the backing strip, measure the first two pieces with a plate, find the size, and then weld downwards again. The back is 40mm wide and about 1980mm long, as long as both ends can be welded together. After welding is completed, the frame can be installed in the lobby (according to the back). Make two angle steel hooks at the top of the wall.

Install power supply, control card, and template

After hanging the hanger, leave a gap of about 10mm around it, because the indoor screen cannot be made into a box frame with a fan. Simply rely on this 10mm gap for ventilation.

When installing the power supply, first connect two finished power cables, and ensure that the 5V output is maintained, otherwise it will burn out the power cable, module, and control card.

Each finished power cord has two connectors, so each power cord can carry four modules. Then, make a 220V connection between the power sources. As long as 2.5 square meters of soft copper wire are used to string each row together, each set of 220V power cables will be connected to the open circuit terminal of the distribution cabinet.

The cables from the distribution room to the LED display cabinet must be arranged before the screen installation. After turning on the power, install the control card. The control card used here is a synchronous receiving card. The layout of the entire power supply and control card, as well as the LED display screen, have power and system wiring diagrams from the factory. As long as you strictly refer to the wiring diagram, there will be no errors. Generally, engineers can also estimate the method of output based on the number of power supplies and cards.

Receiving card and module link

Here, each card has three rows of modules, totaling 36 boards. Install a card every three rows and power it up with 5V from the nearest power source. Note that these five cards are connected using Ethernet cables, and the network port near the power connector is the input port.

The first card on the right is also the top card. Connect the input to the gigabit network card of the computer, then connect the output network port to the input port of the second card, and connect the output port of the second card to the input port of the third card. This continues until the fifth card, and connect the input to the output of the fourth card. The output is empty.

Before installing the module, it is necessary to use stainless steel edging, which is only for the sake of aesthetics and is also a requirement of the installation unit. I asked a master who made stainless steel to measure the size, and estimated that after measuring the steel structure, it was enlarged by 5mm. This way, the stainless steel edge can be blocked, making installation easier.

Installing modules

After fastening the stainless steel edge, the upper module can be opened. It is recommended to install the module from bottom to top, starting from the middle and facing both sides. There is a lot of controversy about this installation method. The main purpose of installing from the bottom is to maintain the horizontal and vertical levels within the normal control range. Especially when the screen area becomes larger, it is more likely to lose control. Especially the requirement for small spacing is too high, and some gaps do not meet the requirements, requiring minor adjustments.

Engineers with installation spacing that is too small know that even if precision molds come out of modules or boxes, there are still errors. Misalignment of several wires can lead to misalignment of the entire wire. Secondly, installing from the middle to both sides can be divided into two or even four groups of people for work, saving installation time. Even if there is a problem of installation misalignment, it will basically not affect the progress of another group of personnel.

Comes with tools. If the ribbon cable is damaged, cut it again by pressing both ends and then installing the fixing clip.

Many times, due to uneven support on the back of the module, the line card needs to be cut off during installation. When the cable is inserted into the module, the red edge faces upwards and the arrow on the module also faces upwards.

If there is no module marked with an arrow, the printed text on the module must face upwards. The connection between modules is the connection between the input in front of the module and the output behind the previous module.

Adjustment

After installing the four wire module card, turn on the test power. Resolve any issues promptly, as if you install the next set, this card will be overwritten and cannot be tested. Furthermore, if installation continues, problems may not be detected in a timely manner. If you install all the modules, identify the problem points, and remove the already installed modules, the workload will be much greater.

There is a test button on the control card that has just been powered on. You can use this method to test first. If the installation is normal, the screen will display red, green, blue, row, field, and point information in sequence, and then test the control computer again, mainly to test whether the network cable is communicating properly. If normal, install the next set until installation is complete.
